khhaish was born from a deeply personal journey. Founded by Hadia Shaikh, a woman and minority entrepreneur, the story began in the fall of 2020 in a cozy studio apartment nestled in Chicago's Gold Coast. Sensitive to smells and passionate about creating a clean, welcoming home, Hadia faced an all-too-relatable challenge: the constant struggle against unpleasant smells in an older building with limited ventilation.

From cracking open squeaky windows to concocting and simmering odd potpourri blends, she ardently searched for a solution to create an inviting space that smelled as good as it felt. Rooted in patience, determination, and creativity—that pursuit led to the creation of khhaish, a candle line designed to bring beauty, comfort, and the perfect scent into every home.
